The Hiking and Rural Accommodation Office
(MRHR)
was created in October 2008 by the
French Guiana Regional Nature Park,
to provide French Guiana with an information desk on the hiking activities and rural accommodations on its territory.
Its members are the associations
Les Gîtes de France Guyane
(GDF, French accommodation association in French Guiana) and
La Compagnie des Guides de Guyane.

What are its goals?
- To welcome and inform tourists and visitors on hiking activities and rural accommodations.
- To promote and popularize the MRHR’s ecotourism offer.
- To collect information on the walkers gone by themselves in case of a rescue mission.
- To advise and orientate businessmen in their efforts to set up rural accommodation or guides’services.
